About Us - The
Creators of the Game NINETM
I am the pastor of Faith Bible Church of Bellevue. www.pastorflynn.com Before becoming a pastor I use to invent games among the many steps of life's adventures. I graduated from Central Academy of Commercial Art, a private art school in Cincinnati, Ohio. I also majored in Visual Communications at Ohio State University, so I know my colors. One day at church I was asked, "What are you going to do when you can't be our pastor any more? You will need an income of some kind." That night, I pondered that question and God gave me the idea for the game NINETM.
The game would
center around the three
primary colors: red, yellow, and blue; the three secondary colors: green,
orange, and purple; and I would add black, white, and gray. Nine colors, thus the game
is called NINETM.
I now had the name for my game. The rules to play would be the next step. I
wanted a game that would be easy to play and hard to play at the same time. I wanted
a game for children to have to help them recognize their colors and for adults
to be challenged with a game of strategy. So in all of this was born:
NINETM,
A Strategy Game of COLORS.
What is unique about the game is that NINETM
can be beat every time you play it, but sometimes this will require some
thinking on behalf of the player or players. The game can be played by one
person or several at the same time. You don't take turns; everyone plays at the
same time. You do not compete with each other; you are a team against the game NINETM.
This makes the game a great family game. The record so far for a family to beat NINETM
is 11 minutes. Don't let the quick time fool you. The average time is 30-60
minutes.
The first version of NINETM was CARDS. Later a second version of CARDS was created called SQUARES. Both CARDS and SQUARES became indoor games because of the wind. I wanted a game you could play both inside and outside. CUBES was the answer. It fact, CUBES, all hand crafted, soon became our most popular version of the game NINETM. Unlike CARDS and SQUARES it needed a game board. Thus the NINEboardTM was created. It is offered in two forms: a hard board and a soft board. Bellevue is known for its truck and train traffic and we hope it will also be known for the game NINETM. On June 20, 2006, we made the front page of our local daily newspaper, "The Bellevue Gazette," with the headlines: "New game NINETM created in Bellevue." Our company motto is: "Every home should have a NINETM game."
